Baby Mountaineer

Ollie made his first summit - of Kennesaw Mountain - on Tuesday.  He brought along his mother and aunt Wowo.

He looked pretty snazzy that day!

On the way down the mountain, he wanted to be carried a little bit, and that was okay.

Later that day, he did some gardening with Daddy, including planting an arugula plant just for Mommy.

Because we wanted to go to the movies on Wednesday to see The Hunger Games, we wanted to see if he would accept breastmilk out of a bottle.  The person with the honor of feeding him for the first time out of a bottle was his Awesome Big Bro!

Daddy took a turn too.

O did great with the bottle, so Laura, Matt, and I went to the movie the next night and really enjoyed it. We don't intend to make the bottle a regular presence in our lives, but it was good to know that everything went well when we went out for a bit.

Tomorrow marks OJ's six-week birthday, and we think that things are going really well.  All four of us are getting on quite well, and the littlest one is growing, healthy and strong.

Quote Of The Day

"Mommy, if I don't have breasts as big as yours - no offense - then I can just use a bottle to feed him!"

Bouncing Baby Boy

Gabriel's friend Nick had his birthday party at the Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta yesterday and invited both boys.  Ollie got to bounce on a trampoline for the first time in his life, and we got it on film:

Both boys had a great time!

Growing By Leaps And Bounds

Another pound in the two weeks. Fiftieth percentile for height and weight and slightly higher for head circumference. He is spending much more time awake now, at 5 weeks +2, and much less time with intestinal problems. We are happy to reach the 6-week mark this weekend, when fussiness usually starts to wane.

Ollie is reaching for Mommy and played with a hanging toy on his bouncy chair this morning. He smiles tons and tons. He took a bath today without crying- it's all about timing, I guess.

The folks at Goldberg's Deli have been following him since before he was born and have been so happy with us. I even got extra lox on my Breakfast Special today. The customers flocked to OJ today to ooh and aah and ask how old he is. It was nice to be able to truthfully tell everyone what a good baby he is and what a great big brother he has.

Brotherly Love

He would sit like this, with his little bro, all night if we would let him.

Soccer Star

Gabriel scored his first goal of the season today, and we are sure there will be many more to come. He played his absolute best today, and we are so proud of him. Here he is in action:

Spring Has Sprung!

In our part of the country, things are looking positively bloomy. Ollie and I are out on a walk to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Welcome To The World, And Moe's!

We are back to our Wednesday tradition of Moe's. The regular Wednesday employees were excited to meet Ollie, and we were, of course, proud to show him off.

Cousins

The ones in black and green are ours; the ones in blue and white are Jack's and Jen's. Don't ask me their names - I'm having a hard time keeping them straight.

Fresh Air And The Sound Of Neighborhood Children Playing

Bun and Papa came over with Jackson and taught G to ride his bike without training wheels today.  A bunch of the neighborhood kids also came over to help G learn.  Here he is with his new skill.  We are SO proud of G!!!!!

The Bike Riding Superstar!!!

O needed to eat and such, so we sat on the floor by the open window in the living room and got some fresh air and sunshine.
