Gi Whiz!

G got his new gi last week and got to wear it to karate class today: In other news, we've applied for a preschool. We decided to go with Saint Catherine of Siena, because they seem to have a few more "specials" and more outside time. It was a tough decision, but the more we talked about it, the more we heard ourselves leaning in that direction.

My First Completely Original Creation

Here's my first ever crochet design. It's really the second, but the first was a gift bag, so I don't really count that. It's a bag for my yoga mat. Please to enjoy.

Need A Dentist Recommendation?

Try mine. I got to go to "Mommy's little happy place" (TM) today for my semi-annual exam. I guess Theraflu is not meant to be mixed with the gas, because I hallucinated before passing out. I woke up with clean teeth and not a care in the world. Ahhhh. I love the dentist.

More Snow!

This just goes to show how useful a moving blanket and a garbage bag can be:

Everywhere we went in northwest Georgia today, there were snowmen and families throwing snowballs. There were only a couple of inches, but it was enough for a lot of fun. This is a special treat for us, because it isn't very common for snow to stick down here in the South.

We can't figure out why, but you might need to turn your head to see this one. Doesn't our snowman look like the Grinch?

Well, Here's One

It's getting late, and I really want to go to bed. I have only been able to get one video up so far. There are two more, and I'll try again tomorrow. Enjoy!

Snow Day!

It snowed yesterday. A lot. Here are some photos from the beginning of the Great Blizzard of 2008. We're trying to upload video but getting errors. We'll work on it.

My Crafts

I've been busy with crafts. I made a purse for Gabriel's friend Allie's birthday party and a monkey named Alex (G named him) for G. Only the banana was my creation - the rest was from patterns. Please to enjoy.

Treasure Found

Today, we had better luck with our geocache and letterbox searches. We found three and got to a fourth but never found it.

Here's the little stamp we made to be our signature. It's a llama on a mountain, which is made with the letter A for Angle. It's made out of an eraser. In letterboxing, it's used to sign the page, and it has to be small because some of the logs are tiny. We're really happy with it.

Warmer Weather

Is it hiking season already? The weather sure is warming up, so we went out yesterday for one of our "treasure hunts" (we failed).

Christmas In January

We got to open our presents from "Bunnut and Papa Nick" tonight, and we had a great time discovering a lot of really cool stuff! Here are some photos:

G's New Potty Chart

It's time to take down the Christmas Tree potty chart, so I made a new one today. All the little guys, except Chick Hicks in the middle, are held on by Velcro and kept in a pouch in the back until he earns them. For every #1 or #2, he gets that many cars to stick on the chart. When it's full, he earns a prize, usually a new toy car.

Wednesday, January 2, 2008

We just want to share how P and G fell asleep on the couch yesterday afternoon. G has never slept with us, nor has he ever wanted to, so this was a special treat - especially to wake up with his face pressed into mine. Aaaaah!

Happy New Year!

How did you ring in the new year? We stayed at home, played some games with "Bun and Papa", ordered pizza, and played Guitar Hero. P's first act of the new year was to beat the game on medium.

Did you make any resolutions? We don't normally, but for the sake of the blog and in the spirit of tradition, here goes. I, PLA, vow to be fit and stylish in 2008. I, MCA, vow to finish what I start. And GLA vows to stop needing diapers. Here are some photos from last night, as well as one showing G brushing his teeth (for those of you who want a little more insight into his daily life) and another showing that he FINALLY got Frank!!! Frank is the combine from the movie Cars, and since it's the only character they don't make, there are folks who make them custom.
