Reading With Granddad

The book is Babar's Travels, and it was one of five Babar books that Bun got Ollie at the book fair last weekend. He loves reading!

Great Save!

G had three games today. In the second game, he played goalie the entire time. He did not let in a single goal, had several impressive saves, and did a great job placing the ball in the field every time. The Pumas won all of their games, and allowed only one goal in each of the first and third games. They remain undefeated in the regular season.

Hummus Thief

Well, we think we found a food he likes. He would not give back Mommy's hummus!

Kicking The Ball And Ready To Crawl

It was a beautiful weekend, and we had just about every minute scheduled.  Between the Georgia Antiquarian Booksellers Association Book Fair, a trip to the tennis court, and soccer, it was a typical action-packed Angle weekend.  Here are some things we thought you might like to see.  It seems like we have a lot more photos of the baby these days, probably because he is learning and growing so quickly, but Gabriel is still at the center of our universe and will always be the one who made us a family in the first place.

This is from a couple of months ago, but we hadn't posted it yet.  Even in utero, Oliver has been a music lover.

He got cozy on his activity mat.

We almost thought he might want to take a little nap, but he just wanted to rest for a minute.

His "jingly bird" is one of his favorite toys, and it never fails to get him to sleep.  Sometimes he plays with it until he can't keep his eyes open anymore.

We mentioned in a previous post that he got to ride in a shopping cart with his cover on 12 September.  Here is the photo.  Can you tell I am a germophobe?

This is a little controversial if you don't know how it works, but we took Ollie for his first chiropractic adjustment the other day.  There is no cracking involved; it is more like a baby massage and totally harmless.  Since I was there already, and his first adjustment was free, we decided to do it.  We can't prove that it changed anything, but he has been healthy and slept great for the following week (eight hours several nights!).

The new year of our Parish School of Religion (PSR) has begun.  This is how we usually find our dear firstborn when we go in to pick him up.  We love his sense of humor.

Although our anniversary was the 20th, we went for dinner at Elevation on Saturday the 22nd to celebrate.  There was lots of action on the runway outside, and our steaks were delicious.  Another of the highlights of dinner were our drinks made with liquid nitrogen.  This is the beginning of Matt's Makers Mark Manhattan.

Gabriel had two soccer games on Sunday in beautiful Rome.  The drive there was fabulously beautiful, and it was great weather for a day outside.  Here he is as one of the team captains (they rotate, I guess) before the beginning of the second game.

Here is the little athlete in action.  He played his absolute best, and we were so proud of him.

Ollie is getting close to crawling.  He already does a sort of "Army crawl", using his face as another arm, but he looks like he is getting closer to a traditional crawl... or maybe he is just a budding yogini with this "downward dog."  What do you think?

Seven Months, Nine Years

Ollie turned seven months old this week, and today is our nine-year anniversary.  Gabriel scored his first goal in Academy soccer last weekend, and school is going very well.  It is a good time.  Here are some things we thought you might like to see:

Michigan football has begun, and other than a soccer uniform on G, this is the standard uniform.

Ollie got to sit in a high chair for the first time!  He also got to ride in a shopping cart last week.

We attended the Improving Birth National Rally For Change outside Piedmont Hospital.

Ollie was so eager to eat food, but other than the first time, this has been the standard reaction.

I told him to give Daddy a hug.

He is learning to crawl and starting to say, "Mama."  Also, we did brownies from scratch this time, and quelle difference!

Ols has the best big bro, and G has the best little bro.  We are lucky, lucky parents.

A Great Day For Soccer

We are just hanging out while the kids practice for their doubleheader. It is a beautiful day here in Alpharetta!

Baby O's First Tooth

Yesterday was a landmark day for our Ollie.  His first tooth came through!  It is his left central incisor.  It is so difficult to get a photo of it, so we haven't one to share.  He seems to like it and has been inspecting it with his tongue and inspecting Mommy's teeth with his fingers.
